Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Use Fisheye Virtual Tours?

It all boils down to experience. Like most other companies we also pride ourselves on customer service and exceeding expectations, but more than that, Fisheye Virtual Tours has the experience and know-how to get the job done. Mike Brennan, owner/operator of Fisheye Virtual Tours, has nearly a half of a decade’s worth of experience in virtual tour photography and has worked for one of the nation’s largest virtual tour companies.

What Does “Fisheye” Mean?

The word “fisheye” is a term known to most photographers…but hardly anyone else. And for good reason. Fisheye is a type of lens that is crafted in such a way that it is able to view 183° in every direction, at that same time. Once that soaks in, you’ll realize that this lens is incredible. It can actually see behind itself. Still photographs are nice, but our 360° virtual tours put you in the middle of the action and give the user complete control of where they want to look.

What Exactly Are 360° Virtual Tours?

Good question. As you know, 360° form a complete circle. With our specialized equipment and software we are able to take the photographs and "stitch" them into one seamless photograph which the end user can control and enjoy. It is with this process that the user can actually FEEL as if they are there! What our 360° virtual tours give you is the ability to do this. There are no limits when it comes to the many different uses of virtual tours. Just ask NASA. They recently invested millions into virtual tours photography which will be used to take us into the next era of space exploration. That is some pretty good company to be in. Remember, if you can't pan down to the ground and up to the ceiling, it isn't a true Fisheye 360° virtual tour.

These Things Spin Too Fast!

No worries, we can fix that. The great thing about our virtual tours is that they can be completely controlled by the viewer. If it’s going too fast, simply click your mouse inside the rotating picture, hold the mouse button down and drag the picture as fast or as slow as you want. Remember, you control the virtual tours, they don’t control you. And, don’t forget to look up and down. That is half the fun!

How Do I View The Virtual Tours?

The full version of our virtual tours requires the use of Flash or Java script. Both programs are widely used software programs that are used for a multitude of applications and are safe to install. Please click here to install Flash or Java. Installing either program only takes about two minutes with a computer with a DSL connection speed or higher. Another option is to view the virtual tours by using Quicktime. Click here to install Quicktime. However, Quicktime will not allow you to see the "full" version with all the bells and whistles. However, there are certain instances that this is actually better because it gives your webmaster more flexibility. These files are mainly for programmers who need full control over the individual tours.

What Is A Fisheye Virtual Tour?

Our virtual tours are: taken digitally with a fisheye lens and combined with special software to produce a completely seamless 360° virtual tour. In virtual tour lingo, seamless means that you cannot see where one picture ends and the other picture begins. This is what makes our virtual tours so special. Our virtual tours are NOT: taken with a video camera, limited to certain viewing area or a generic slideshow.
